How To Use Your Healing Jewelry for Meditation


Did you know that using your healing gemstone pieces during meditation can enhance your practice by aligning your energy, grounding your focus, and amplifying the healing properties of the gems?

I've created a guide for you to learn how to use your healing jewelry as tools to deepen your practice:


Choose the Right Stone
- You can use your intuition as I do, or if nothing comes to you, identify the intention of your practice. As you know, different stones carry unique energies, so choose jewelry that aligns with your goal:

Here are some examples:

  1. Rose Quartz (or other pink stones such as Rhodochrosite): Encourages self-love, emotional healing, and inner peace.

  2. Clear Quartz: Amplifies energy and intentions, great for overall clarity and focus.

  3. Black Tourmaline (or Smokey Quartz): Provides grounding and protection from negative energies.

  4. Turquoise: Encourages self-expression and truth, ideal for throat chakra meditation, stress relief, self-forgiveness.

  5. Green Tourmaline and Emerald: Prosperity, connection with Mother Earth.

  6. Amethyst : Enhances spiritual awareness and calmness. It’s ideal for deepening meditation and clarity.

Intention is Everything

  • Before meditating, hold your jewelry, close your eyes, and set an intention. For example: "May this Green Tourmaline connect me with the abundance of Mother Earth.”

  • Visualize the gemstone, radiating its unique energy and surrounding you with healing light. I like to imagine the light as the same color as the stone surrounding my auric field.

Wear the Jewelry Mindfully

  • Bracelets and Rings: Focus on the energy in your hands and wrists, especially during mudras or hand positions in meditation. Feel the grounding or calming properties of the stones as they connect to your pulse points.

  • Necklaces and Pendants: Wearing a gem close to your heart, like a pendant, can help focus energy on the heart chakra and emotional healing during meditation.

  • Anklets: Helps ground your energy by connecting with the earth during seated or lying meditation.

Focus on the Energy of the Gems

  • During meditation, bring your awareness to the energy of the jewelry. Part of my job description as a healing gemstone jewelry designer is to wake up if you will, the healing energy of your gems. I often hear if the healing energy I channel into your pieces disappears. It doesn’t! ( It is however, a good idea to cleanse your gems from time to time (see below).

  • Visualize the stone's energy flowing through your body, helping you stay grounded or uplifting your mind. This can help deepen your focus and connection to your intention.

  • If you’re wearing a bracelet, you can run your fingers over the beads as a mindfulness technique, similar to using prayer beads.

Chakra-Based Meditation

  • If you're focusing on balancing a particular chakra, wear or place healing jewelry corresponding to that chakra’s color and properties. For example:

    • Root Chakra (Smokey Quartz, Black Tourmaline): Place a bracelet or anklet on or near your feet to ground your energy.

    • Heart Chakra (Rose Quartz, Rhodochrosite): Wear a necklace with a heart-centered stone for emotional healing.

    • Third Eye (Amethyst, Labradorite): Wear a piece of jewelry close to your forehead or place it there briefly to open intuition.

Post-Meditation Reflection

  • After meditation, spend a few moments holding or touching your healing jewelry. Reflect on how it made you feel and whether you noticed any particular sensations or shifts in your energy.

  • You can cleanse the stone after intense meditations by placing it in sunlight or moonlight or using sage to clear any residual energy.

Daily Practice

  • Over time, using healing jewelry during meditation can create an energetic bond between you and the stone, strengthening its ability to support your mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

  • Wearing the same jewelry in and out of meditation sessions will allow you to carry that meditative energy throughout your day.
